Café Gijón Print Email
One part of the history of this country could not be understood without the presence of Café Gijon. It is a place where many politicians and people of high standing have met for the past 120 years and a place where many discussions have been held since the Generation of 27.

VÍDEO

If walls could talk, they would have written many historical novels and many art and literature books. It is not unusual to see an artist or a poet or an ordinary person or someone famous at any time of the day having a coffee while drawing or while reading quietly.

It is a café that has basically not changed at all and that is divided on two floors: the lower floor is like a cave and is where the restaurant is and the upper floor transports you into history one century ago with its furniture and lighting. Each table and sofa is full of tradition and history because at one point in time it was the seat of Rafael Alberti, Garcia Lorca, or Gerardo Diego..
