La Fontana De Oro is the title of the first novel of Benito Pérez Galdós, published in 1870. La Fontana De Oro is the social gathering café of many of those that lived during the time when liberal writers got together to talk about politics. Benito Pérez Galdós was a regular and developed his novel there.
At the moment, it is an Irish café whose specialty is…yes…Irish coffee, the only one in the capital. It is a place that makes you feel at home, whoever you are. They have a small stage where daily you can enjoy live acts of all types: Pop, Rock, Blues, Folk, etc. On the lower floor you can find different rooms with a subtle cavernous light like in the middle ages. We recommend coming on St. Patrick’s Day, the 17th of March!

La Fontana De Oro is located on the Calle de la Victoria, number 1. It is a traditional bar and the inspiration of one of many artists such as Pérez Galdós.
